Eagle Point Campground in Emerald Bay is one of the most scenic – and most popular – campgrounds in Lake Tahoe. The world-famous Emerald Bay is a National Natural Landmark.
The campground has great access to a beach with views of Fannette Island and lower Eagle Falls, as well as access to the Rubicon Trail.
There are also a number of shipwrecks in Emerald Bay with snorkeling and diving opportunities.
Pets are allowed if on a 6′ leash and must be kept in the campground.
Premium campsites are available for $45 and may well be worth the upgrade. Some have great views of the lake while others are near scenic hiking trails.
Eagle Point Campground went through massive renovations ending in 2017. There are plenty of new bathrooms and other facilities for campers.
South Lake Tahoe is 15 minutes south.
