The high-altitude Mt. Rose Campground is located on Mt. Rose Summit with quick access to beautiful hiking trails in every direction, including the Tahoe Rim Trail. These trails will lead you to lakes, waterfalls, streams, and amazing views.
There are 25 total sites in a small picturesque valley set back from the highway. Seven of those are hike-in tent sites. Some sites are set aside for walk-ups and cannot be reserved.
Turning room is limited; most sites are back-in only but there is one 55′ pull-through site. A few double-capacity sites are available for 12 people at $40 per night; there is also one triple-capacity site for 18 people at $50.
Opening and closing dates vary due to seasonal snow at the campground’s high elevation of 9,300′.
Mt. Rose Campground is 30 minutes from Reno and 10 minutes from north Lake Tahoe’s Incline Village.
Reservations (for the reservable sites) must be made at least four days before arrival and can be made six months in advance.
