Kaspian Campground is one of the few tent-only campgrounds near Lake Tahoe. Nine private sites are set in the woods and across the highway from a small beach.
Granite Flat is a large campground on the Truckee River. They have 51 tent and RV sites. Vault toilets and water are available. Great fishing.

Silver Creek Campground is on the Truckee River, between Tahoe City and Truckee. There are 23 tent and RV sites with shade, vault toilets, fishing, and bike paths.
Zephyr Cove Resort is one of the fancier campgrounds near Lake Tahoe, with 150 sites. The RV park has hookups and cable. Tent sites offer lake views. Open year-round.
Fallen Leaf Campground is one of the largest campgrounds near South Lake Tahoe, next to Fallen Leaf Lake. There are 206 tent and RV campsites with showers and flush toilets.

Emerald Bay Boat Camp is a unique boat-in campsite right on Lake Tahoe for kayakers and other boaters. There are 20 primitive sites with picnic tables and vault toilets.
D.L. Bliss State Park has 138 RV and tent campsites near Lake Tahoe, including beach camping. Access the infamous Rubicon Trail from this campground.
