Zephyr Cove Resort, Nevada
The Zephyr Cove RV Resort & Campground is a large campground across Highway 50 from Lake Tahoe, a beach, restaurant, and the M.S. Dixie II dock.
The recently-renovated campground includes 47 walk-in tent sites and 10 drive-in tent sites, some with lake views. There are 93 RV sites capable of accommodating RVs up to 50′ long, complete with water, sewer, 30/50-amp electric, and cable.
The Zephyr Cove campground is one of the more expensive you’ll find in Tahoe (operated by Aramark in conjunction with the USFS) and is right on the highway. During the high season, rates start at $45 for walk-in tent sites and climb up to $75 for RV sites. Winter rates are $25 for tent sites and $37 for RV sites.
Pets are allowed in the campground, on leashes, but aren’t allowed on the beach across the street.
Things to do near Zephyr Cove RV Resort & Campground
Zephyr Cove RV Resort & Campground is on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe and ten minutes from Stateline casinos and South Lake Tahoe.
For hiking, we’d recommend sections of the Tahoe Rim Trail and the network of trails at Van Sickle Bi-State Park. These are the closest and really only hiking trails on the Stateline side of Zephyr Cove RV Resort. For the rest of Lake Tahoe’s world-class hiking, you pretty much have to go through town towards Desolation Wilderness.
There are plenty of watersports opportunities near Zephyr Cove RV Resort & Campground. You can launch kayaks and paddleboards from the beach across the street. You can also rent jet skis and boats at the Zephyr Cove Marina. This is also where you’ll go to embark on a cruise aboard the infamous M.S. Dixie II paddlewheel boat.
There isn’t a lot for restaurants within walking distance of Zephyr Cove Campground, but you do have the Zephyr Cove Restaurant right across the street, set in a cozy cabin-type building near the water. About three miles down the road towards Stateline, you’ll find Capisce? Italian restaurant, Harumi Sushi, and The Bean Bar cafe.
Zephyr Cove RV Resort & Campground has a small store; for larger shopping needs you’ll have to go to Safeway, in the same shopping center as Harumi Sushi and The Bean Bar.
